Weather in southern Quebec: up to 23 degrees in Montreal for Saturday

Quebecers will have to take advantage of the mild sunny weather that will set temperature records over the weekend, before colder weather sets in by the middle of next week.

In Montreal, it will be 14 degrees on Friday night. On Saturday, the temperatures will rise to reach a record: 23 degrees during the day and 18 during the night.

The previous record dates back to 1988, when it had a maximum of 18 degrees day on the same date.

The rain could disrupt the plans for Sunday, a risk of downpour is to be expected, but the temperatures will remain abnormally hot with 20 degrees during the day.

On Monday, the sun will be back with maximum temperatures of 16 degrees.

In Outaouais and Abitibi, if Friday presents itself under better weather auspices with sun and rising mercury, the weather will however be rainy for many sectors for the weekend.

Environment Canada forecasts an alternation of sun and clouds with sometimes more clouds in places for the central sectors of the province, where temperatures of 17 to 19 degrees are expected in Estrie, Beauce and the Capitale-Nationale.

In areas a little further north, such as Saguenay and Chibougamau, the mercury will drop and the sky will be cloudier with possible showers, according to forecasts from the federal agency.

We also expect generally sunny weather with temperatures of 12 degrees for Friday in the east of the province, but the weekend will be cloudier with the risk of showers in places.
