The Gironde series is starting to look like something. Thirteen points that allowed Bordeaux to take the lead in the standings. If the Girondins pursue it beyond the trip to Nîmes and the reception of Pau, they will then be able to go on vacation with the satisfaction of duty accomplished and prepare for a recovery which promises to be tough against Le Havre, Sochaux, Caen and Amiens, direct competitors on the climb.
Until then, we will have to get a result this Saturday (3 p.m.) in Nîmes at the start of the 14th day to put pressure on the other contenders. The Gardois are penultimate in the standings and already urgently need points.
The match therefore promises to be engaged and the Bordelais will once again have to be solid defensively to imitate Caen and Paris FC who left with the victory at the Costières stadium.
