It is an initiative of the elementary rules association supported by the Fondation des Femmes…
A collection of menstrual products today and tomorrow Saturday, November 5, 2022 in a hundred Monoprix stores, partner of the operation, across France. That is to say Paris, Toulouse, Grenoble, Nancy or even Rennes. Find the list of participating stores here.
It’s important, when we can, to give to fight against menstrual poverty
Yes, it is important to give to help the two million women who do not have the means to buy periodic protection, for lack of means…a taboo perhaps, a scourge no doubt…which concerns a lot of female students…and which can have serious consequences for physical but also moral health…We are far from Scotland, which voted for total free intimate products for all women..
The means to access these products with health guarantees, and at reduced costs
Yes, because it’s happening thanks to associations in the field, and local authorities too who are taking up the subject and the government which has also followed suit… More and more Universities have free distributors thanks to the CROUS, Brittany voted free for high school girls, free also in the colleges of Puy de Dôme, there is also Grigny in the Hauts-de-Seine which has set up distributors…
I told you by the way, if you are concerned and you do not have access to free, there are alternatives to save: reusable sanitary pads are one of them..
That’s why today and tomorrow, making a move against menstrual poverty is important..
In 2021 more than 600,000 periodical products had been collected by the Women’s Foundation and the Elementary Rules association, which then rely on local associations to distribute them. We must do better this year with this ever more expensive life and the risk that more women will be affected in 2022, in France, by this unbearable precariousness.
