One more time, Metz Handball will be well represented on the floors of a major international competition. Several Dragonnes start women’s euro this Friday (until November 4 in Slovenia, North Macedonia and Montenegro) with medal ambitions for each.
A blue one with the Blue ones
Tamara Horacek and Chloe Valentini are regulars at tricolor meetings. The Metz coach can rely on the Metz center half to take over from Grace Zaadi and the winger has had an excellent start to the season. The surprise came from the first selection of the goalkeeper Camille Sinceet, called in reinforcement after the injury of Laura Glauser. The native of Dijon thus donned the jersey of the French team for the first time, in a preparation match on October 28 against Poland. To these Dragonnes is added the presence, also a first, of the left back Audrey Dembeleloaned this season by Metz Handball to Besançon.
The schedule of the Bleues in the preliminary round:
Saturday, November 5: France vs. North Macedonia
Monday November 7: Romania vs. France
Wednesday, November 9: France vs. Netherlands
Bont and the Netherlands in full confidence
The Dutch and the Messina winger Debbie Bont appear in the group of the French team in the preliminary round, and it is certainly the opponent most to watch from the start of the competition for the blue ones. The Netherlands, 2019 world champions under the leadership of a certain Manu Mayonnade, have just won the Golden League by successively outclassing Norway, Brazil and Denmark!
Denmark in ambush
Denmark from Louise Burgard and Kristina Jorgensen is one of the usual favorites of these major events. Bronze medalists at the World Cup in Spain last year, deprived of the final by France in the semi-finals, the Danish selection has already won this Euro three times (1994,1996, 2002).
