Lightspeed announces a loss of 59 million, but revenue on the rise

(Montreal) Lightspeed Commerce reports second-quarter loss, but revenue up 38% year-over-year.

The software company, which keeps accounts in US dollars, said its loss was 53 cents per share for the quarter ended September 30, compared with a loss of 59.1 million US cents or 43 cents per share. in the same quarter last year.

Quarterly revenue totaled US$183.7 million, up from US$133.2 million a year earlier.

The increase is recorded as subscription revenue reached US74.5 million from US59.4 million a year ago, while transaction-based revenue totaled US101.3 million from US65, 0 million US in the same quarter a year earlier.

Hardware and other revenue was $7.9 million, compared to $8.8 million.

On an adjusted basis, Lightspeed says it lost 5 cents per share in its most recent quarter, compared to an adjusted loss of 8 cents per share in the same quarter last year.
