The Petit Pien clinic in Monéteau reopens its doors

After three and a half months of closure, Little Pien finally sees the light at the end of the tunnel. This clinic belonging to the Orpea group had to close the July 18 at the request of theARS due to shortcomings.

During the closure, which was made official on July 18, staff were recruited. About twenty people. they are now nearly 90 working on the Petit Pien site. Joris Schivo is the new rehabilitation referent. He arrived on the site six weeks ago. “I arrived without knowing what had happened at the clinic. I bring an outside view and I want to offer new things.” The young man wishes, above all, renew the dialogue between the rehabilitation team and the care team.“The two teams have to be able to tell each other things because we are all here for one thing, the good of the patients.”

Reorganization of space and training for all

A reorganization of space also took place. “Patients on the first floor and second floor will do rehabilitation in the lounges, explains Joris Schivo. It took order materials, parallel bars, tell the stretcher-bearers that at 9 a.m. the living room must be organized in such and such a way.” All patients will also have lunch together in the refectory.

The staff had the right to several formations. “They explain how, sometimes, one can become abusive or negligent, simply due to a lack of organization, for example, says Karl Lorido, head of care at the clinic, who arrived at Petit Pien in August. We all have learned to be more vigilant__, do not hesitate to alert if you spot signs that may suggest a malfunction that could lead to abuse.”

Impatience in the eyes of the staff

The whole team is very excited and happy to reopen. “I think that this closure has been beneficial to us, sighs Sylvie Gaudry, coordinating doctor of the establishment since its creation in 2017, even if at the beginning, I do not hide that it was a bit surprising. We had time to rethink our organization__, it’s much more specific in everyone’s head.”

“We are excited at the idea of ​​​​welcoming patients again, confides a nurse from the clinic before adding: we expected to reopen on September 18, we are more than ready__, it was time !” By the way the first patient arrived at 11:30 a.m. this Wednesday, November 2, followed by a second two hours later. The 90 full hospitalization places at Petit Pien will gradually fill up.

Ten additional places with day hospitalization

It remains for the establishment to complete its roadmap in order to be able, once again, to receive patients during the day and present it to the ARS. “Day hospitalization represents 10 additional seats in our establishmentexplains Frédéric Wolf, the director. These places are extremely important, we are working on them, we have additional documents to bring, in particular for a construction of 120 square meters which will house a technical platform with offices, a rest room for our patients. We are also refining our therapeutic workshops so that people who come during the day can benefit from it.” Frédéric Wolf specifies that he will respond to the remaining injunctions of the ARS within two weeks.
