Tuesday in the NHL | Kucherov has three points for the Lightning

The Lightning take the measure of the Senators 4-3

Nikita Kucherov had a goal and two assists as the Tampa Bay Lightning came from behind to beat the Ottawa Senators 4-3 on Tuesday night.

The Lightning took the lead for good when Kucherov scored with a shot from the right faceoff circle with 2:30 remaining in the third period, aided by a side pass from Mikhail Sergachev.

Kucherov has now scored at least one goal in his last four games, and scored at least one point in his last eight games.

Brady Tkachuk was able to take a shot on a breakaway with a second to play but his shot missed the target.

Sergachev, Alex Killorn and Brayden Point scored the other goals for the Lightning, while goaltender Andrei Vasilevskiy faced only 15 shots. The Lightning’s five-man offense has scored just one goal in eight attempts.

The Lightning won the game despite the absence of star defenseman Victor Hedman with an upper body injury. His status will be reassessed on a daily basis.

In the loss, goaltender Anton Forsberg blocked 30 pucks. The Senators scorers were Dylan Gambrell, Mathieu Joseph and Claude Giroux.

A 5^e Straight win for the Knights

Shea Theodore scored at 1:35 in overtime and the Vegas Golden Knights defeated the Washington Capitals 3-2 on Tuesday.

Jack Eichel maneuvered well in the opposing zone. Patient, he ended up serving a perfect pass in the slot to Theodore, who collected a third goal this season.

Eichel and William Carrier were the other scorers for the Knights, who have won their last five games.

Alex Pietrangelo has been instrumental in every Vegas goal, giving him nine assists this season.

Logan Thompson made 19 saves, being beaten by Marcus Johansson and Trevor van Riemsdyk.

Charlie Lindgren stopped 28 shots.

Phil Kessel of the visitors is six games away from reaching the milestone of 1,000 games played in a row.

The Golden Knights continue their stay in the East by visiting the Senators on Thursday. They will play at the Bell Center on Saturday night.

Rangers sign a 3^e straight win

Chris Kreider scored on the breakaway at 4:07 into overtime and the New York Rangers beat the Philadelphia Flyers 1-0 on Tuesday.

Carter Hart turned aside 35 shots before flailing against Kreider, who beat him from the backhand after grabbing the pass from Mika Zibanejad. He has five points in his last three games.

Igor Shesterkin made 19 saves, earning his first shutout of the season.

Kreider has shot on goal seven times for Rangers, who are unbeaten in their last three games.

Shots from Zibanejad and Kreider had hit the post in the middle period.

The Rangers let two power plays slip away in the third period.

The Flyers will visit the Maple Leafs on Wednesday.

Toronto will try to end a four-game losing streak.

Islanders beat Hawks 3-1

Brock Nelson had a goal and an assist on Tuesday to help the New York Islanders win 3-1 over the Chicago Blackhawks.

Nelson has four goals in his last three games.

Anders Lee and Zach Parise signed the other nets for the Islanders, who have won their last four meetings.

Ilya Sorokin blocked 21 shots in a winning cause.

The Islanders will be back in action on Thursday in St. Louis.

Arvid Soderblom blocked 28 shots after Alex Stalock’s early exit with an unspecified injury in the third minute of the game.

Jonathan Toews had the goal for the Blackhawks, who were losing a fourth straight game.

Bruins win sixth straight game

Hampus Lindholm scored at 3:37 in overtime and the Boston Bruins defeated the Pittsburgh Penguins 6-5 on Tuesday.

Lindholm threaded the needle with a wrist shot, scoring his third goal of the season.

Pavel Zacha, Taylor Hall, Charlie Coyle, Brad Marchand and Jakub Lauko scored the other goals for the Bruins, who are undefeated in their last six games.

22-year-old Czech Lauko earned a first goal in the National League.

The Bruins posted the NHL’s best record in October, 8-1-0.

They will be back in action Thursday at Madison Square Garden.

The Penguins replica came from Sidney Crosby, Evgeni Malkin, Rickard Rakell, Bryan Rust and Josh Archibald.

The Penguins have slipped their last five games.

The two clubs will meet again on January 2 at Fenway Park.

Author of 1421 points, Crosby won the 18^e place of history to Adam Oates.

He’s not far from 17^e rank, held by Bryan Trottier (1425 points).

Crosby is one assist away from becoming the 20th^e player to total 900 assists.

Four goals at 2^e twenty lead the Stars to a 5-2 win

Roope Hintz scored twice as the Dallas Stars defeated the Los Angeles Kings 5-2 on Tuesday.

Dallas distanced itself with three goals in a minute and a half in the second period.

Hintz completed the push with his second goal of the game, his fifth goal of the campaign.

Jason Robertson, Tyler Seguin and Joe Pavelski also hit the target for the Stars.

Robertson, Jamie Benn and Miro Heiskanen provided two assists each, while Scott Wedgewood made 30 saves.

Kevin Fiala and Arthur Kaliyev fought back for the Kings. Cal Petersen blocked 35 shots.
