American rapper Takeoff, member of the group Migos who made himself known with “Versace”, is dead

American rapper Takeoff, a member of the Migos group, was shot and killed Tuesday morning in a bowling club in Houston, Texas, at the age of 28, reports the specialized media TMZ.

Real name Kirshnik Khari Ball, the artist was spending the evening with one of the members of his group around 2:30 a.m. when the police were called for shootings in a bowling club with a deceased person, according to TMZ.

Originally from Atlanta, Georgia, the group Migos, made up of Takeoff, Quavo (his uncle) and Offset (his cousin), rose to fame in 2013 with Versace that Canadian rapper Drake had remixed.

Four years later Bad and Boujee from their second album Culture rose to first place in the Billboard Hot 100.

The group has collaborated with many stars (Travis Scott, Cardi B, Katy Perry, Justin Bieber, Drake…). their scrapbooks Yung Rich Nation (2015) and Cultivation II (2017) from the Motown and Capitol Records labels were big hits, followed in 2021 by Cultivation III and their latest title Messy.
