Tuesday, November 1 marks the day the mountain law comes into force. An automotive equipment store has therefore opened exceptionally. In the winter equipment section, customers came to comply with the new rules at a lower cost. Until March 31, in around fifty mountain departments, snow or four-season tires are compulsory, or failing that, a pair of snow socks or chains ready to use.

Count around 70 euros for the socks. For chains, the price range is wider, from 50 euros to 300 euros. But when you have to travel a lot at altitude, it is difficult to escape the installation of special tires. And there, the prices are more important: it is necessary to count at least between 200 and 300 euros depending on the type of vehicle. Some motorists are still hesitant. The purpose of these new rules: avoid scenes of chaos during winter episodes. The absence of equipment may be sanctioned with a fine, but not before next year.
