In the commune of Issoudun, there are no longer enough doctors to run the emergency room of the hospital center. Result : the service will be closed from this Monday evening but most likely also this Wednesday from midnight until Friday 9 am and Saturday night. The search continues but so far impossible to find replacements depending on the direction.
Three missing doctors
According to the director of the Issoudun hospital, Marc Kugelstatdt, “currently there is four permanent doctors to emergencies” and it would take three more to ensure all guards. “We are constantly looking for replacements and interims but unfortunately sometimes that is not enough, the proofhe continues. We already closed one night in September, it was the first time since the creation of the service in Issoudun.”
The mayor of Issoudun André Laignel contacted the director of the Regional Health Agency to organize a crisis meeting in the coming days. “If tomorrow Issoudun is no longer able to have an emergency service, that means that it would be partly based on Châteauroux and Châteauroux is not able to cover the entire department on its own.“ The chosen one hopes to be fixed on the precise date of this meeting this Monday.
