Soaring energy prices spared no one, not even companies in Berry. Some even risk bankruptcy, the prices of gas and electricity sometimes exceeding their own profitability. Faced with this crisis, the CCI of Indre, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is offering the “Les matinales de l’énergie” training course to help businesses save energy and thus reduce their bill. About twenty companies, ranging from SMEs to large companies, took part in this training in Châteauroux on Friday 28 October.

Our clients will go bankrupt
In his metrology laboratory in Villedieu-sur-Indre, Franck Avrillon has no choice: he must maintain the temperature at 20 degrees. All year round, the air conditioning works at full speed. Since a few months, his electricity bills skyrocketed. “It’s times five over a year, that is to say more than twice the average annual result of the company”explains the entrepreneur.
An untenable situation Frank Avrillon risks going out of business. “It’s the double penalty, our customers will go bankrupt, in particular because of the price of energy, so we will have less revenue inflows and more outflows”he laments.
Renegotiate its contracts with EDF
With its training, the CCI of Indre helps companies to better manage their energy consumption. Several tips are given to entrepreneurs to save money. “We turn off the light, we avoid turning on an oven or a compressor when it is not in use, we are also working on the insulation of the premises”says Richard Rabié, technical manager of a surface treatment group in Buzançais.
Another tip to lower your bill: renegotiate its contracts with EDF. “We help entrepreneurs find a better compromise in terms of pricing to overcome this difficultexplains Michel Dengremont, industry adviser of the future at the CCI of Indre. We help them to return to consistent and acceptable market prices”.

In Indre, dozens of companies risk bankruptcy, particularly in the foundry and metallurgy trades. Large, energy-intensive industrialists, such as the Pyrex factory in Châteauroux, are the most in difficulty. The next energy morning will be held on Wednesday 30 November at the CCI de l’Indre.
