The university world is in turmoil all over the province to meet the new needs of the population. Here are three examples of programs created recently outside the Montreal area, but which can be done completely or in part remotely.

Online pedagogy
The reality of teachers has changed a lot with the arrival of the COVID-19 pandemic. If no one wants school to be done at a distance now, the fact remains that this experience has shown that digital technology can be put at the service of learning in order to respond to emerging issues. It is for this reason that the firmware of 2e cycle of intervention and pedagogical-digital leadership in educational contexts was launched by the University of Sherbrooke. It makes it possible to plan and implement projects based on the needs and problems encountered in schools. It is aimed as much at people who are finishing their bachelor’s degree in education as at those who are already employed in schools or who are developing teaching materials. The 15-credit microprogram is carried out part-time, completely online. It provides a mix of synchronous (virtual classroom) and asynchronous (individual and team work) learning activities.
Cinema and digital culture
Exploring studies and practices from the beginning of cinema to digital: this is what the newly created bachelor’s degree in cinema and digital culture offers from Université Laval. Students also explore the possibilities and implications of digital culture in modern creation. By combining theory and practice, the program makes it possible to acquire skills to work in the field of creation, in particular in directing, scriptwriting, editing and special effects, or even in the field of cinema analysis to evolve, for example. in the world of journalism or cultural organizations. The program can be done on a full or part-time basis and some courses can be done remotely.
Ethics for Managers
Two new short programs—one of 9 credits and one of 15—in ethics for managers were recently created by the Université du Québec à Rimouski. Since mid-level managers in organizations must also often continue to practice their profession, the programs touch on both organizational ethics and professional ethics. The programs therefore address the foundations of values and ethics, responsible decision-making in an organizational context and the responsibilities of organizations through situations found in business. Students can therefore acquire the skills necessary to carry out an ethical diagnosis that holds water and to exercise ethical leadership. These two short programs lead to an attestation of studies in ethics for managers. They are part of the specialized higher education diploma (DESS) and the master’s degree in ethics. They can be done remotely or in hybrid mode.
