The TFC lost to Lens (3-0) this Friday at the opening of the 13th day of Ligue 1. The Violets however had the opportunities to score and bring back at least one point from Hauts-de-France but finally saw their series of four matches without defeat in Ligue 1 end there.
Dupé stops a penalty, the incoming Lensois make the difference
The TFC cracked on the hour mark on Bollaert’s lawn. Just entering the game, Openda deceived Dupé (1-0, 60 ‘) on an assist from another incoming Sotoca. A few minutes earlier, Maxime Dupé had stopped a Lensois penalty shot by Captain Fofana. Four penalties conceded by Toulouse this season, three stopped by Dupé. This same Openda killed the suspense at the end of the match and scored a hat-trick (2-0, 87’ then 3-0 in added time).
Desler comes out injured
Other bad news for the TFC, the exit on injury of its defender Mikkel Desler at the very end of the match. Philippe Montanier’s men, tenth in the standings, will try to get back on track on Sunday 6 November at the Stadium against Monaco. Penultimate outing before the cut due to the World Cup in Qatar.
