(Vienna) Canadian Denis Shapovalov defeated Britain’s Daniel Evans in two identical sets 6-3 to advance to the semi-finals of the Vienna Open.

The 23-year-old Ontarian had seven aces and won 86% of his first-serve balls in this duel. He also converted three of his 16 break opportunities. Evan was unable to take advantage of the four break points offered by Shapovalov.
In the four aces, Shapovalov will face Croatian Borna Coric. The two tennis players have faced each other three times on the ATP circuit. Coric won two of those matchups.
The Russian Daniil Medvedev, the favorite of the competition, will face the Bulgarian Grigor Dimitrov in the other semi-final.
