In August 2008, a 25-year-old woman returning from Trudeau Airport with her four-year-old son missed the last bus to Quebec, where she lived.
So she went to a motel to rent a room for the night.
Unfortunately for her, a man followed her by car.
- Listen to Conservative Senator Pierre-Hugues Boisvenu at the microphone of Richard Martineau on QUB radio:
A DISGUSTING ATTACK
The woman had just entered her bedroom when the man rushed into the room, grabbed her by the hair and pulled her into the bathroom, where he forced her into him. fellatio while the toddler, standing on the bed, cried: “Mommy, mommy! »
During the attack, the victim knocked out two teeth when he fell face first against the bathroom sink.
Once his crime was committed, the man searched the young woman’s wallet and stole $280.
Thanks to DNA, the attacker, Mohamed Chaouachi, was arrested eight years after the fact, and convicted of sexual assault, death threats and robbery.
He received his sentence yesterday. Five and a half years in prison.
The Crown was asking for a 10-year sentence, while the defense suggested only two years.
Two years !
ONE EYE BLINK
The guy is going to spend five and a half years in prison.
For brutally raping a woman in front of her four-year-old child.
And wait, knowing our justice system, that bastard is sure to get out after serving two-thirds of his sentence.
So after three and a half years.
Three and a half years in the shade…
For screwing up a woman’s life. And that of her child.
It’s disgusting.
Three and a half years ago, it was April 2019.
Major floods affected several cities in Quebec, the death of a little girl in Granby provoked the indignation of the population, the government tabled its Bill 21 on secularism.
We remember it like it was yesterday!
Three and a half years goes by in a flash!
One blink of an eye… and the guy will be free as air?
As if nothing had happened ?
You think his victim only suffered for three and a half years, do you?
And after that, she moved on?
Resuming his merry way with a smile?
- Listen to Richard Martineau’s editorial broadcast live every day at 8 a.m. 30 via QUB-radio :
A HATE CRIME
Do we want to protect women?
Well, let’s start by giving exemplary sentences to the men who attack them, who rape them, who attack them!
Three and a half years in prison is an insult!
We no longer count the number of bandits with ties who have spent more time than that behind bars!
Rape is a hate crime. A woman is attacked because she is a woman.
It was her. It could have been another.
Any woman would do.
The important thing is that the victim is a woman.
When you rape a woman, you rape all women.
When will we see sentences that reflect the horror of this crime?
