On Twitter, Wednesday, the member for Saint-Jérôme wrote that he took a few days of reflection to “put things in perspective in order to undertake this mandate with vigor and good humor”.
“With a first term where I had the opportunity to contribute in a tangible way to regulatory relief, I will not hide my disappointment at not having been called up,” he admitted.
Last week, during the swearing-in of the Council of Ministers at the Salon Rouge, the absence of Mr. Chassin had been noticed. The latter had not since granted an interview to clarify whether or not he intended to remain at the CAQ.
“I would like to congratulate my fellow ministers who bear important responsibilities for the future of our nation. Expectations are high. The Prime Minister and the ministerial team will be able to meet the challenge, ”he wrote on Wednesday, while the Council of Ministers met in the afternoon in Quebec.
Youri Chassin begins his second term as deputy. He was first elected in 2018 and has previously held the roles of parliamentary assistant to the Minister of Education and then to the Minister of the Economy. Before his arrival in politics, Mr. Chassin notably served as director of research at the Montreal Economic Institute (IEDM).
