[…] I loved Pascal Élie deeply, for the delicacy and beauty of his drawing, his tenderness, never far from his humour, his ability to deal with a terrible event one day and a profoundly human subject. I remember his caricature for the death of Leonard Cohen, that also of a couple whose husband learns that his wife received a positive test result… for the pregnancy, that of a nurse whom his boss joins on the slopes to get her back to work, and so many others. I cut them out and posted them on the wall, I digitized several of them to look at them at my ease and refer to them. Pascal made me happy and also gave me back the desire to continue when nothing was going well, to smile at the worst moments, thus marking the great strength of the design when it is completely one with the person who designed it, the power of art, in short.
Thank you for everything, dear Pascal, and wherever you are now, make them laugh and amaze them! They are very lucky…
