Friday, October 21, during a high school demonstration organized in Tours, in Indre-et-Loire, several firefighters were beaten up by demonstrators. There are four minor injuries among the firefighters.

A sudden and violent attack. Friday, October 21, in Tours (Indre-et-Loire), a firefighter tripped on a sidewalk and fell while trying to reason with a protester. Young people took the opportunity to rush on him and beat him. Colleagues coming to his aid received the same treatment. Among the firefighters, there are four minor injuries.

A lesser evil, as explained by Warrant Officer Anthony Chauveau, president of the SPASDIS-CFTC union: “We could have had a tragedy. A badly placed kick to the head or the cervical spine and you can end up with someone who can be seriously injured.” The 150 high school students demonstrated against Parcoursup and the reform of vocational high schools. The high school students’ union wanted to support the firefighters, while condemning the facts. A high school student was also arrested and will be brought before a judge in December.
