A new Élise Gravel is always good news for her young (and not so young) admirers, whether they are still in daycare or just entering high school. His latest creation, the album Everybody, is aimed precisely at all these beautiful people, but it is likely to appeal more particularly to its faithful who are just starting to read. This is because the popular author and illustrator brings back the charming menagerie of her “monster” books to offer some lessons in wisdom, tolerance and mutual understanding, presented in pairs that complement each other (“Everyone may need help. Everyone likes to feel useful ”) and written in an accessible language for new readers. Our assistant for this little review, who is just taking her first steps in reading, particularly liked her deciphering experience, but especially the drawings of monsters, so familiar, both funny and touching. She gives it five stars. Us, a little less … But hardly.
