Several hundred people were present for the funeral of Lola, Monday, October 24, in Lilles, in the Pas-de-Calais. The ceremony, open to the public, took place peacefully.
Behind Lola’s coffin, her parents, her brother and her relatives enter the church in Lillers (Pas-de-Calais), Monday, October 24 in the afternoon. On its forecourt, the ceremony is broadcast by loudspeakers for the hundreds of people who remained outside. In tears, her brother bids a final farewell to Lola. “My Lola, my beloved little sister, I hope you can hear me from up there. Unfortunately, you left much too soon, I couldn’t even tell you how much I loved you”he said in a sob.
These words and the grief over the event shocked the crowd. “The pain of losing a child is hard, the way it happened is really hard”, expresses a woman. Lola’s parents had asked that the ceremony take place with respect and dignity. The girl was then buried in the cemetery of Lillers, in complete privacy.
