The safe bet

A criminal case

The media have talked a lot about Pet on Noovo this fall. Well Named. Simon Boulerice’s series is overwhelming. But another fiction of the broadcaster deserves as much attention: A criminal case. Written by Joanne Arseneau and directed by Stéphane Lapointe (Miscellaneous facts), this crime thriller entertains as much as it intrigues. This week, you’ll see why Raymond Bouchard ended up being a finalist for the last Gémeaux awards as best supporting actor for his portrayal of retired police officer Marcel Dorais. His acting during the interrogation is masterful. Great art. One of the best performances of 2022. (Missed the show? It’s not too late to do well. Episodes are available on Crave.)

Noovo, Tuesday at 8 p.m.

Sought after neighborhood

Sought after neighborhood

In this new real estate reality show, the (very friendly) hosts Evelyne Charuest and Corey Loranger help Francophones from all over Canada find a property in nine Canadian cities, including Vancouver, Calgary, Toronto and Quebec. The first season has 13 episodes of 24 minutes. In the one on Montreal, we meet Baptiste and Myriam, a couple from Longueuil who want to buy a ground floor in the heart of a dynamic, but also residential neighborhood. All with a budget of $700,000. Big challenge, given the market. We like the show’s no-frills concept, without artificial twists or slapped scenes that create false conflicts between the participants.

come to dinner

We rarely think of taking an interest in AMI-télé. We should. Although this channel is aimed at people who are blind, have reduced mobility or are hard of hearing, it offers programs that can be of interest to a wide audience. The proof ? come to dinner, an intimate talk show produced by Urbania in which colleague Dominic Tardif leads thematic discussions with guests who live with disabilities. To start this second season, the host and his Marjo t-shirt receive three ex-alcoholics to talk about addictions. The topic may seem heavy, but the ensuing exchange is not. On the program of the following episodes: sexuality, work in the public eye, invisible handicap and adolescence.

The week of the 4 Julies

The week of the 4 Julies

Julie Snyder is taking a break from hosting this week. We clearly specify “d’animation”, because as a producer ofDouble occupation, bet that she will still have her hands full with the operation “save the furniture post-intimidation-gate”. At the helm of the daily talk show, the demon will be replaced by Guylaine Tremblay (and not Marie-Lyne Joncas, who had nevertheless provided each interim last season). The darling actress of viewers will notably receive Régis Labeaume and Phil Roy on Monday, Luce Dufault and Nico Racicot on Tuesday, Les Sœurs Boulay and Debbie Lynch-White on Wednesday, and Véronique Hivon and Mickaël Gouin on Thursday. Unsurprisingly, no OD exclusive is on the menu.

Noovo, Monday to Thursday at 9 p.m.
