With his disheveled hair, his unique tone of voice and phrasing, it is difficult today not to recognize Bertrand Deckers when he appears on a television set. Regular columnist on “TPMP”, this specialist in royal and reigning families comes straight from Belgium. And we have seen it for a long time lately following the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II of England. At almost 37 years old, the columnist was the privileged guest of the microphone of Jordan De Luxe for which he agreed to come back on his career, his media debut but also on his private life. Without false modesty, the latter spoke of Thierry, her husband since 2019. But what most interested his host was obviously to know more about his relationship with his boss, Cyril Hanouna. It is true that between these two, it is a priori the clash of worlds! The historian first explains that “Baba” spotted him while he was a columnist on “Non Stop People”. An activity which, however, is not his thing, as he explains: “As a simple columnist, it’s not my job, it’s not my culture, it’s not my universe, I I don’t have that passion, I don’t have that passion I have when I talk about royal families,” he says. Hence its absence in the debates of the show and the rounds where everyone has their own little opinion on any subject.

And what about his relationship with Cyril Hanouna? Bertrand Deckers replies frankly, bluntly: “With Cyril, I have very good relations, but they are strange, they are sometimes difficult, relations with Cyril because there is a relationship between him and me ‘I don’t ‘love me neither’, since he says ‘Me the queen, I don’t care’. I get angry, I get angry, that’s what he wants, you understand. And then, he looks at me and he says ‘But that I love Bertrand’. While I am dismantled, crying”, confides the historian, very sensitive. His fault? He readily admits it: “I take everything literally, yes, I don’t really have a step back from things, especially when it comes to royal families. I’m very natural, or too real, I really get angry at Cyril and the more I get angry, the more he wants to annoy me”, explains this madman of crowned heads, smiling. And continues: “Off the air he laughs, ‘It was excellent’. Me, I’m decomposed by saying ‘It sucks, it’s over, I’m not made for this job’, he laughs. It’s a strange job”, ends up admitting the historian who, finally, likes enough to participate in TPMP. I am the only one to talk about royal families to the public who follow Cyril Hanouna.” A profile that ultimately fits well with the program’s slogan, which is said to be “open to all”!
