A stunning scene unfolded at the Chinese Communist Party Congress on Friday, October 22. Hu Jintao, the former Chinese president, was escorted out in chilling silence.
It is usually a ceremony orchestrated to the millimeter. In the huge People’s Hall in Beijing (China), Friday, October 22, the 2,300 Communist Party delegates were gathered around Xi Jinping, the president whose central role they must endorse.
