It was around 9 p.m. on Saturday, October 23, when four patrols of gendarmes arrived in the Zodiaque district. They intervene on a car fire. When they arrive, they are targeted by fireworks mortar fire by about thirty individuals. Reinforcements are called around 10 p.m., a little less than thirty soldiers respond and use tear gas to disperse the young people. People flee. There was no arrest.
Fortunately, this violence did not cause any injuries. A gendarme still had pain in the eardrum after these fireworks mortar fire. Calm returned late at night, around 1:30 a.m. A few gendarmes then remained under surveillance.
The Zodiaque district of Annonay has already experienced similar urban violence last weekend. An investigation is underway.
