Festive ciders
A little apple toddy, what a delight! Just like a good glass of Quebec cider. That’s why the producers of a dozen local cider houses agree with us at the 2e edition of La Grande Presse, which takes place this weekend, October 22 and 23, in five regions: Montérégie, Basses-Laurentides, Estrie, Capitale-Nationale and Chaudière-Appalaches. To warm our hearts and taste buds, visits to orchards and cellars, interpretation activities, demonstrations of different apple pressing methods, virtual conferences (including a workshop on making fire cider) , commented tastings and the sale of juice to produce homemade cider are on the program. A great event!
La Grande Presse, October 22 and 23, 2022, several locations across Quebec.
Benevolent herbal teas
The Camellia Sinensis house designs superb teas, but also herbal teas for all tastes and all needs. For example, it offers several herbal teas perfect for fall: the Comforting, based on verbena and calendula, which gives the skin a sunburst; Sublime chamomile, mixed with wild rose and lemongrass, which exudes intoxicating fragrances conducive to daydreaming; or the Belle humeur, with whole colored raspberry flowers mixed with lemony and floral notes, whose delicate taste evokes the summer that has left us. It is possible to taste these herbal teas before buying them, or, for a more in-depth experience, to take part in a tasting workshop in one of the brand’s three boutiques.
Camellia Sinensis, three stores in Montreal and Quebec.
Soups on the menu
The autumn season marks, for many of us, the kick-off of a long series of soups, soups and broths that we will enjoy until next spring. To vary our recipes a little, the popular blogger Geneviève Plante, from Vert color parsley, has concocted the book soup time. Composed of 30 recipes, sometimes economical, sometimes appreciated by children, this copiously illustrated little book offers you the opportunity to prepare creamy corn soup with cheddar, smoked salmon chowder or a drinking broth with mushrooms. The author completes her suggestions with extra garnishes or accompaniments, as well as anti-waste tips. Enjoy your lunch !
