Pourrain, earth of ocher

For a long time, ochre** has been extracted from Pourainat Diges and parley.

Crushed on site since 1763, it is transported to Auxerre then, by waterway, to Paris. The extraction was done in the open without shafts or galleries.

Today the association “Ocher Dust”
located in a former ocherry belonging to the family of France Gallhighlights this industrial heritage by developing work sites, conferences, workshops and visits around ochre.

Saint Sebastian church in Parly

Saint Sebastian church in Parly is one of the most beautiful Romanesque churches of the Yonne. It dates from the 12th century.

We notice its octagonal bell tower and its magnificently carved portal.

The interior has very beautiful wall paintings.

Former property of Julien Clerc, Metairie Bruyere
in Parly has been a graphic arts center unique in the world since the end of the 1970s, spread over 8 farm buildings.

This is Robert Dutrouwho worked among others for picasso, Calder and Miroand his wife Lydie who created this unique place.

An exceptional place that brings together in one place all existing printing techniques and which attract artists from all over the world.

Today is their daughter Corinne who continues their work and who created the association “To the four winds of art”
an association that works in particular to promote art among young people and people with disabilities by regularly organizing courses and workshops.
