(Philadelphia) Kyle Schwarber hit a resounding home run and the Philadelphia Phillies beat the San Diego Padres 4-2 on Friday night.

Jean Segura bounced back from a costly mistake and hit a single that put the Phillies ahead. The Philadelphia squad leads the National championship series 2-1 and the fourth game will take place on Saturday at Citizens Bank Park.
The Phillies returned home for their first home stadium game in the Championship Series since 2010. They are just two wins away from reaching the World Series for the first time since 2008.
The Phillies can tell they beat the Padres without playing their best baseball. Apart from the Schwarber circuit, the star players were rather calm. Segura and Rhys Hoskins also made a mistake that made the matchup closer than it should have been.
Phillies starter Ranger Suarez still recorded the win. He allowed one earned run and two hits in five innings of work. Zach Eflin and Jose Alvarado gave up no runs on their pitched inning and Seranthony Dominguez had six outs to save the victory for his team.
After an out in the ninth inning, and with a runner on base, Dominguez pulled Jurickson Profar out of the strike as the Padres player held his momentum. Profar threw and kicked his helmet before being sent off.
Padres playoff ace Joe Musgrove was unable to complete the sixth inning and he walked off the mound after Alec Bohm hit a one-run double to give the teams a 4-2 lead. Phillies.
Schwarber was facing a full count when he hit his second four-goal of the series. The ball traveled 405 feet into the right field bleachers.
The Phillies looked set to manhandle Musgrove in this inning, after walks to Hoskins and JT Realmuto. Bryce Harper, however, compromised in a double play and Nick Castellanos was retired on a ball.
Suarez should have made a clean escape in the fourth set, but Segura fumbled the ball on a potential double play. A run was scored to tie the game at 1-1.
Segura rebounded by slamming a two-run single in the fourth inning to give the Phillies a 3-1 lead. He was taken out at first base.
Hoskins meanwhile misplayed a routine ground ball from Trent Grisham in the fifth inning. Grisham eventually came in to score following a ground ball from Ha-Seong Kim.
