(Calgary) The Calgary Flames have signed a two-year contract extension, worth a total of US$4.4 million, to goaltender Dan Vladar.

The agreement will come into effect in 2023-24.
Vladar is entering his second season with the Flames, who signed him with the Boston Bruins in the summer of 2021 in return for a third-round pick in the 2022 draft.
Backup for Jacob Markstrom, Vladar was 13-6-2 with two shutouts last season. His goals-against average was 2.75 and he posted a .906 save percentage.
Last Saturday, Vladar stopped 26 pucks in the Flames’ 4-3 win at Edmonton. It was his first start of 2022-23.
After the game, head coach Darryl Sutter said he hoped to give Vladar the chance to start one game a week this season to ease Markstrom’s workload.
The 25-year-old Prague native Vladar was a third-round pick of the Bruins in 2015.
