Jean-Pierre Betton, emblematic defender of Nîmes Olympique, has died

The big Nîmes Olympique family is in mourning. We learned this Wednesday of the death of Jean-Pierre Betton at the age of 77. This emblematic defender had worn the colors of the crocodiles from 1964 to 1974. He was from the generation of vice-champions of France in 1972. Jean-Pierre Betton trained with Henri Augé a central hinge feared by all attackers in France. Particularly brave, he was sometimes nicknamed “the ball” because he put his head where others did not put his foot. France Bleu Gard Lozère presents its deepest condolences to his family and loved ones.
