“An Ocean to Save” is the culmination of a look at the world. Carolina New went backpacking to see the world with the idea of writing a book about travel. But, what challenged her the most as she crossed magnificent landscapes, was the mass of waste accumulated on the beaches, the roads, in the middle of nature or in the cities.. Admittedly, Caroline was already aware of these issues, but it became so present during her journey that she decided that, in the end, that was what she was going to talk about in this book. Waste, as she explains here, never goes away! We always end up finding them in rivers, in the seas where they have a huge impact on biodiversity, on the health of Nature and therefore, on our future health too, not to mention visual pollution.
It is no longer a question, as Caroline explains, of properly sorting your waste, but above all of stopping producing it as much as possible! that is why “An Ocean to Save” exists, in order to sensitize each one of us and especially children from 5 years old, to planetary issues. In order to be consistent with her point, Caroline chose to publish her book, a local printer, which works with vegetable inks and paper from eco-managed forests.
