Montreal Libraries Children’s Book Award | Orbie rewarded for The end of lice?

The pandemic has not only turned the lives of all human beings on the planet upside down. She also shook up the tiny creatures that love children’s hair: lice! With his zany story that tells how these parasites went through months of physical distancing, Orbie was able to charm the jury of the Montreal Library Children’s Book Prize.

The author and illustrator of The end of lice? received this distinction on Tuesday during a ceremony hosted by Barbada at the Saint-Henri library. A $5,000 scholarship was awarded to the artist, who recently released the album Orbie, draw me a Billibouton with author Frédérick Wolfe.

The other titles nominated this year were Leonoreby Linda Amyot, Bubble wrapby Simon Boulerice and Ève Patenaude, Who owns the clouds?by Mario Brassard and Gérard Dubois, and TruffleFanny Britt and Isabelle Arsenault.
