It will be necessary to take precautions before going to Le Mans station this Monday, October 17: several TER lines are disrupted by a strike by Sarthois railway workers at the call of the CGT. The Caen-Le Mans-Tours line is particularly affected, indicates the SNCF.
The union is concerned about a possible relocation to Rennes of the Le Mans signal box, which concerns a hundred railway workers. According to the CGT press release, this could also lead to the removal of the Caen-Tours-Le Mans axis: “the five-pointed star configuration of the Le Mans station poses technical and budgetary problems for the configuration of the new station. The idea of the SNCF is therefore to make CCRs where only the main profitable lines would be managed and to abandon the lines with a narrow service to the territory._”
The union also denounces the lack of personnel which prevents the laying of holidays and calls for greater investment in rail projects. A rally is scheduled for 1 p.m. this Monday in front of the Le Mans signal box, near the south station. The social movement must last until Wednesday morning, at 5:59 am. The forecast for Tuesday, October 18 will be posted at 5 p.m. on the SNCF website.
