Sochaux held in check in Metz (0-0)

No audience, no goal and no winner this Saturday evening between Metz and Sochaux. 0 to 0 between the two teams under an incessant rain which did not facilitate the task of the actors of this meeting of the 12th day disputed behind closed doors. Sad atmosphere and a tasteless result for the Yellow and Blue who suffered at the start of the game especially, before finishing very strong but without finding the fault.

In the end, the FCSM is doing quite well. Olivier Guégan’s team could have lost, and could also have won in the end. This sharing of points is therefore logical for the Sochaux coach.

Olivier Guegan: “We are not going to be choosy about taking this point. The conditions were difficult with a pitch made heavy by the rain, we left a lot of rubber and energy. We finished stronger with our entrants who brought us more ‘impact (Editor’s note: excellent entry, in particular by Skelly Alvero), and yes, with more technical accuracy in one or two situations, we can do it. But take 4 points on these 2 matches in the same week (with the victory against Saint-Etienne), that’s good, after the match against QRM on Saturday at Bonal should allow us to value these results.”

Many opportunities but a real finishing problem on each side

Back on the podium

In the standings, with Le Havre’s draw at Rodez (1-1) and Amiens’ surprise defeat at Nîmes (2-0), the FCSM goes back to 2nd place, level on points with HAC, new provisional leader thanks to a better goal difference. But if Bordeaux does not lose Monday in Bastia at the end of this 12th day, the Yellow and Blue will slip back to 3rd position but will therefore remain on the podium in the worst case.

Gaétan Weissbeck, captain of FCSM “It’s a good point, we came across a big team from Metz, we had our moments, they too, we could have lost and won too so this draw is really logical and a good result for us, we did the best we could on a very difficult ground, we have no regrets”
