Last little cheese maker in the region
Lucie Renault is quality manager within the Vergaville Abbey cheese dairy
north of Lindre, about 7 km from the Domaine.
A story that started in 1938, the cheese dairy was then run by an Italian family and produced typical Italian cheeses. In 2001, she is taken over by the Haxaire cheese dairy in Lapoutroie in Alsace, a family cheese dairy specializing in the production and ripening of munster cheese.
The initial objective was then to develop the Tomme de Lorraine part which is now the majority. The cheese dairy offers specialties from Lorraine of course (Carré du Père Antoine matured with Mirabelle, Vergalor), but also Alsatian (Welsche matured with Marc de Gewurztraminer) and Italian (Mozzarella).

The only bookstore in Saulnois
Marjorie Marchetto, manager of the independent bookstore “Le Roseau Pensant”
in Château-Salinsat 20 rue du Maréchal Joffre just opposite the church.
This bookstore was born from the observation that there was no longer any bookstore in Moselle-Sud (the last one in Dieuze, closed in 2018), Marjorie has been a bookseller for 15 years moreover, she naturally thought that there was a great opportunity for her and for all the inhabitants of Saulnois.
The Thinking Reed offers approximately 6,000 books for all ages and all tastes: novels, comics, manga, youth, nature, practical tests, cookbooks…
