D-2 before the long-awaited return of the star Academy. The fans of the show no longer believed in it and yet, twenty-two years after the launch of the program, new candidates will invest the walls of the castle of Dammarie-les-Lys! What to immerse the former participants of the Star Ac’ in nostalgia. Jenifer, Nolwenn, Jean-Pascal, George-Alain, Michal, Magali Vaé, Houcine… Some of them had agreed to take part in the prime event for the 20th anniversary of the show. Elodie Frégé, winner of season 3, was one of them.
The 40-year-old singer has, like her former comrades, rediscovered images from the time. If Elodie Frégé had surely forgotten some details of her adventure, there is one thing that she has not erased from her memory: her sometimes limited exchanges with Raphaëlle Ricci. Coach in scenic expression, the teacher was one of the most feared by the students. It must be said that she was not the type to take tweezers to say things and Elodie Frégé paid the price.
Interviewed by Chloé Thibaud for the needs of the book All for music, evoking the place of women and sexism in the music industry, Elodie Frégé confided in one of the most traumatic scenes she has experienced. At the time, the young woman interpreted a title in a rather sexy way during a bonus: “I had to sing Without counterfeit by Mylène Farmer and, in your opinion, while I was saying ‘I am a boy’, what had they imagined for this project? I have to wear alluring underwear, a push up corset, tights, garters and high heels.“
If at the time, Elodie Frégé probably did not realize what had happened, Raphaëlle Ricci quickly put her feet on the ground: “But damn, you weren’t comfortable at all, how did they tie you up? You had rolls under your buttocks!’ I was bulimic and she was telling me that in front of millions of people. It was double jeopardy.” One of the biggest false notes of her adventure at the end of which she, fortunately, obtained the best rewards!
