Malik Bentalha’s debut film pays homage to adventure comedies

His reputation as an adventurer, Jack Mimoun cut it out of the blue, thanks to a television show. So when a young woman takes him on a treasure hunt with a bunch of broken arms, incongruous situations follow. The comedy adventure is a genre in which French cinema rarely rushes. “When Malik sends a scenario like that, I say to myself ‘But who is crazy enough in France to propose such a film?’, says Josephine Japyactress.

For the film, Malik bentalha gave of himself and took 15kg in order to pay homage to the film of his childhood. “I grew up with all these great adventure comedies, the Indiana Jones in the first place (…) We are really in love with this cinema and we respected the genre”explains Malik Bentalha. The film relies on a top-notch cast color with Jérôme Commandeur and François Damians who gives it to heart joy. Its creators are already thinking of a trilogy.
