“After it’s done in November, then I will enter into a decision-making process” about 2024, he said in an interview with CNN, referring to the midterm legislative elections, in a month.
Asked about his age, the oldest president ever elected in the United States, who will celebrate his 80th this yeare birthday, defended himself.
“The question is, ‘Can you do the job? I believe I can do the job,” he said.
“Name me a president, in recent history, who did as much as I did the first two years,” he said.
Joe Biden, who had always said he wanted to run again, has in recent weeks somewhat tempered his remarks on this subject: he recently explained, in another interview, that he certainly intended to run for a second term, but without have made a final decision.
The Democrat has repeatedly stressed that he considers himself capable of winning the election again if he has to face former Republican President Donald Trump.
At a low in the polls before the summer, Joe Biden has enjoyed a slight resurgence in popularity in recent months.
