In a statement, Essex Police say Jack Sepple will serve a 23.5-year prison sentence for stabbing Ashley Wadsworth of Vernon, British Columbia to death.

According to the police, M.me Wadsworth, 19, was stabbed and strangled during a lengthy assault on May 1er February at the residence of the 23-year-old man.

Earlier in the day, the police say that two relatives of the young victim had received text messages saying that Mr.me Wadsworth needed help and wanted to leave the residence. Then, other messages followed that everything was settled. Authorities have determined that these last messages were transmitted after the young woman’s death.

Ashley Wadsworth had met Jack Sepple online. He pleaded guilty last month to committing her murder.

In a statement provided through police, the victim’s mother, Christy Gendron, said her daughter was a beautiful, bright young woman and “the pillar of their little family unit.”
