Two new outbreaks of avian flu have been formally identified in the Somme, announces the prefecture of the Somme in a press release published Friday evening, October 7, after a meeting on the subject. These outbreaks were confirmed in Ailly-Le-Haut-Clocher and Quend, while preventive slaughter took place there on Saturday 1 October.
Hunting of waterfowl and game birds prohibited in these sectors

Other current restricted areas in the Somme and neighboring areas
The prefecture recalls that three regulated zones remain in force, as long as the foci of avian flu detected are not stabilized. It’s about a temporary control zone on the Picardy coast relating to the presence of the virus in wildlife; a restricted area around an outbreak detected in mid-September in The Title/Sailly-Flibeaucourt. A new case was detected there on Tuesday 4 October; a restricted area around an outbreak detected at the end of September in Had in Seine-Maritime.
