(Santa Clara) Deebo Samuel turned a short reception into an electrifying 57-yard play for a touchdown on Monday, powering the 49ers of San Francisco to a 24-9 win over the Los Angeles Rams.

Talanoa Hufanga brought a 52-yard interception into the end zone late in the game.
Jeff Wilson had a 32-yard touchdown run for the Niners (2-2), who are undefeated in their last seven regular season games against the Rams (2-2). Los Angeles defeated the Niners in the last Nationals championship game, though.
On Monday, San Francisco muzzled Sean McVay’s attack, while fetching enough big plays to win. Nick Bosa scored two of seven sacks over Matthew Stafford; he leads the league with six such tackles this season.
Samuel’s stunt late in the second quarter came on a play where it was thought Jimmy Garoppolo’s pass would be intercepted.
Derion Kendrick anticipated it and almost stole the ball, but the object got to Samuel. The latter then blocked tackling attempts from Taylor Rapp and Jalen Ramsey, spinning into the promised land and giving the home club a 14-6 cushion.
Early in the final quarter, Robbie Gould put his shoulder to the wheel with a 25-yard field goal.
The Rams pierced the opposing 20 line three times, without removing more than three field goals from Matt Gay.
Both clubs will play again on Sunday. The Rams will host Dallas, while the 49ers are going to visit the Carolina Panthers.
