A detainee on the run arrested by the police in Nancy

It was around 11 p.m. this Friday evening in Nancy when the police spotted a man in his thirties in a car. A few hours earlier, it had just been declared on the run after escaping from the Maxéville semi-freedom center. A chase must have started at rue du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny, just before the start of avenue de Strasbourg.

A shot fired

At the sight of the officers, the fugitive attempted to reverse for more than 50 meters in order to escape control, before deliberately aiming at one of them with his vehicle, according to the SGP-Police FO union. This is where a shot is fired in an attempt to stop him. The prisoner descends to run away, manages to shake off the police, and will be found a few moments later, in a square, by the night BAC. No one was injured during the intervention, but the officer targeted benefits from a day off work because of the psychological shock.

Under the influence of substances

The suspect arrested was driving a stolen vehicle, without its license and under the influence of narcotics, specifies the prosecutor of Nancy. He was serving a one-year prison sentence for burglary and driving without a license and another 4 months in prison for theft and driving without a license.
