The Montrealers offered a performance that reflected this dream year, by the way. Even if the only goal of the match was acquired on a self-containment by defender Donovan Pines in the first half.

Montreal thought it could double the bet in the 80e, after Ismaël Koné won a penalty. Pines, again, was expelled after blaming the Quebecer. But Joaquín Torres’ shot, who is having a frustrating end to the season, was blocked by goalkeeper David Ochoa.

Otherwise, possession was clearly in favor of the Bleu-et-noir. And the occasions, too. It must be said that the opposition offered by DC United, the worst team in the league, was not great.

The only real scares of this beginning of October for Montreal came towards the end of the game. The ball even crossed the line guarded by James Pantemis in the 87thebut Steven Birnbaum was offside.

The winless streak of Wayne Rooney’s squad has stretched to 11 games.

In a completely different trajectory, the CFM meanwhile went for a fifth game without defeat. He has only lost once since July 16.
