this cancer that changed everything…

With Claudia Tagbo and Alice Detollenaere, Evelyne Dhéliat is one of the ambassadors of the association Ruban Rose Pink October, (the first association in France, since 1994, dedicated to information on breast cancer and early detection, editor’s note) .

On the set of LCIthe weather forecaster of TF1 explained why she had accepted this role. “I said yes right away for a reason. I had heard doctors and specialists say that when certain people have a certain notoriety and talk about it, it helps people and it helps to raise awareness. And of course myself who was affected by this disease, when I came back on the air, when I took off my wig, people said to me: ‘We followed you.’ And that is very important, it is in this sense that I do it”she said in front of Christophe Beaugrand.

In 2012, the ex-colleague of Catherine Laborde was affected by breast cancer. “It’s something very violent (…) There is the shock when you are told about it. So it’s true that I was a public figure and that I thought it was part of my life private. And I didn’t want to make others suffer the problems I had. So I had been very discreet at that time, but I realize, and especially in relation to the medical profession, that talking about it it’s super important and that’s why I’m doing it, really”.

Let’s hope that this testimony on the importance of screening will have its effect!
