The old refrain of hospital poverty

Sometimes, on discreet albums of French song, we grasp a little of the historical reality of our country. Here, a song by Benoît Tranchand, in 2019, navigates an ordinary hospital. And we better understand the statistics revealed by the Ministry of Health itself last Tuesday: 4316 hospital beds were still cut in France in 2021. Which brings to more than 21,000 beds cut between the end of 2016 and the end of 2021 .

The trend is old: there were 10,000 hospital beds cut during François Hollande’s five-year term, and 37,000 beds cut during Nicolas Sarkozy’s mandate. And even earlier…
