As revealed by Sud Ouest, information that France Bleu Gironde is able to confirm, the Tour de France will pass through Gironde next summer. After leaving Bilbao, the peloton, after a detour through the Pyrenees, will go up to arrive in Bordeaux on Friday July 7th.
Mayor Pierre Hurmic refuses any confirmation but specifies: “I would be delighted to welcome the Tour de France thirteen years after its last visit to Bordeaux.”
“Optimistic” Libourne
The Tour map will be unveiled on October 27 in Paris and the name of Libourne will also appear there. Reinforced after hosting a stage finish and a time trial in the Saint-Emilion vineyard in 2011, the Libourne bid has once again won over the organisers.
On the side of the town hall, we confirm the candidacy and we say we are “optimistic” to welcome the Grande Boucle again two years later.
