“Syndrome [E]” is the first adaptation for television of one of the novels by Franck Thilliezundisputed reference of the French thriller.
The story tells of Franck Sharko, 45, who is a gruff and lonely cop. Only his daughter is with him on a daily basis: Eugenie interferes everywhere. In particular in his new investigation in which children mysteriously disappear while an old film from the 1960s causes viewers to behave strangely and dangerously.
And then there is also Lucie Henebelle. Aged 35, she too is a cop, a single mother. When she realizes that her past may be related to Sharko’s investigation, she joins his team. The meeting of the two police officers therefore promises to be electric… But this investigation will above all lead them from Morocco to Canada to shed light on scientific experiments.
Commissioner Sharko is played by Vincent Elbaz. To get an idea of the character, the comedian read “Syndrome [E]” by Franck Thilliez but also the first books where Sharko appeared to understand the genesis of the character. When he started to work the characterhe said to himself that he had to present his version but that the author and his readers had to be able to recognize him.
