Jacob Melanson was suspended for two games by the National Hockey League (NHL) security department on Tuesday for an action against James Hamblin.

Melanson, who played for three seasons in the QMJHL with the Quebec Remparts and the Acadie-Bathurst Titan, was suspended for a blow to the head of the Oilers forward Edmonton happened in their preseason game on Monday.
The 19-year-old striker will serve his suspension the day he is able to earn a place with the team.
After that incident, Melanson, a fifth-round pick in 2021, was kicked out of the game.
