Police filmed themselves from behind throwing their handcuffs, in protest, Monday, September 26, in Cergy (Val d’Oise). On the same day, in Lille (Nord), masked police officers sang the national anthem. Throughout France, members of the judicial police wanted to show their anger against a reform of their institution. They fear losing their most sensitive files, which could leave under the aegis of the prefect.

“At the regional level, we are going to abandon the fight against terrorism and organized drug trafficking”, denounces a former member of the judicial police, released from his duty of reserve. Demonstrations also took place last week, notably in Toulon (Var). The demonstrators were also worried that their perimeter of intervention would be reduced. For its part, the Ministry of the Interior did not wish to react, on the evening of Monday, September 26.
