The club is gathering more information.
The Ohio Highway Patrol responded to a call for a car rollover around 3 p.m.
Garrett and an unidentified passenger were taken to the hospital, authorities said. Impaired driving was not suspected.
Garrett and the passenger were wearing their seat belts.
The team returned to practice after a home win against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday night.
26-year-old Garrett needs just one sack to become the team’s all-time point guard.
Garrett was drafted first overall in 2017.
Last season, he set a Browns mark with 16 sacks in a single campaign.
In 71 games in the NFL, he totaled 61 and a half sacks.
The Browns (2-1) will play again Sunday afternoon in Atlanta (1-2).
