Jean René Toumelin, former president of FC Nantes died on Sunday September 25!

Former Nantes Football Club president Jean-René Toumelin died on Sunday September 25, 2022 at the age of 80. Jean-René Toumelin was president of the association from 1992 to 1996 and president of the club from 1996 to 1998. He was particularly known for his remarkable kindness. A dentist by trade, he participated in the glorious years of FC Nantes, notably with the title of French champion in 1995 and the semi-final of the Champions League against Juventus in 1996. Close to the club, he also participated in the two coronations of the Coupe de France in 1999 and 2000. Friend of the legends of the club and attached to FC Nantes, he was one of the signatories of the Collectif Nantais project. This Sunday, 1,500 people took part in the Dag, a charity race between La Jonelière and the Beaujoire stadium. This weekend was the second edition of the Dag, a foot race organized in tribute to Philippe Daguillon. Traced in such a way as to highlight the places that marked the life of Philippe Daguillon, a former FC Nantes physiotherapist who died in 2018, the route ended in front of the presidential stand of Beaujoire. Former Canaries were present: Loïc Amisse, Frédéric Da Rocha, Nicolas Savinaud, Mickaël Landreau, Georges Eo and of course Jean-Claude Suaudeau, without forgetting Antoine Kombouaré, Sébastien Corchia and M%ohammed Achi current players of the FCN. Among the Women of FC Nantes, the bad series continues with a third consecutive defeat. The girls fell in Saupin against Lille, a match lost 2 goals to 1. Precious points lost against a direct competitor. Nantes is still tied for second to last, and may even be in the red lantern at the end of the day, with zero points. Moreover, last night on the show 100% Canaris, Jean Simon Glotin, our football expert did not show great enthusiasm for the French team which lost its last match before the World Cup in less than two months.
