Former Nantes Football Club president Jean-René Toumelin died on Sunday September 25, 2022 at the age of 80. Jean-René Toumelin was president of the association from 1992 to 1996 and president of the club from 1996 to 1998. He was particularly known for his remarkable kindness. A dentist by trade, he participated in the glorious years of FC Nantes, notably with the title of French champion in 1995 and the semi-final of the Champions League against Juventus in 1996. Close to the club, he also participated in the two coronations of the Coupe de France in 1999 and 2000. Friend of the legends of the club and attached to FC Nantes, he was one of the signatories of the Collectif Nantais project. This Sunday, 1,500 people took part in the Dag, a charity race between La Jonelière and the Beaujoire stadium. This weekend was the second edition of the Dag, a foot race organized in tribute to Philippe Daguillon.
